IMPORTANT Postponement of The Annual General Meeting 2020
The Annual General Meeting of The Working Clumber Spaniel Society, originally scheduled for 19 April is postponed until further notice due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Safety of members and the general public is uppermost in this decision by the committee taken in full consultation with the Kennel Club and it is not currently possible to set a new date. We will re-arrange as soon as is practical and safe.
All members of the existing committee are willing to continue in their current posts until an AGM can be arranged. We have considered the possibility of online voting in the committee elections but this requires a rule change and in any case there seems little point while the current experienced committee is prepared to serve in the interim.
For those interested in standing for a committee position please note that the current time limit remains in place and anyone standing must have directly informed Andy Hales (Chairman) by 5th April 2020. Please be sure to send in an application directly to Andy andyhales83@gmail.com , even if you have previously indicated interest through another committee member.
We will hold off producing a final agenda until a date for the AGM can be set. This allows us to add items which may by then have become necessary.
The committee has applied its powers under rule 3 para 5 to co-opt Sarah Watters Carver as Honorary Secretary with immediate effect and we are pleased to say that Sarah has accepted the appointment.
As you will realise this health crisis comes at a very difficult time for the Society. We feel that this is the most responsible action to keep members and the Society safe during these very uncertain times.
